Your tax dollars at work: A simple chart
You won't believe some of the things on this list.
| You might want to sit down for this. Everyone knows the federal government wastes taxpayer dollars, but sometimes the specifics are hard to stomach. Check out the chart below from a recent op-ed in The Washington Times.  $670,000 for sculptures? $42 billion in subsidies to endowed Ivy League colleges? $5.7 million for dystopian climate change voicemails from the future?? To put this in perspective, the total waste included on this list ($50 billion) could pay the average income taxes of 5,000,000 Americans. That's the population of Colorado. Or Delaware, five times over. The feds will never stop wasting taxpayer money. The incentives are too tempting, and the accountability is almost nil. Until now. Millions have joined the movement to call an Article V Convention of States. A Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that force the feds to be fiscally responsible. These amendments can include a balanced budget amendment along with tax caps and spending limits. If Congress has to balance the budget but can't raise taxes, they'll take a long, hard look at the expenditures on this list.
