Why I Joined Convention of States

I recall being very surprised when I somehow ran into information about Convention of States three months ago. It was almost disbelief: “There really is an organization that believes in the idea of a balanced federal budget and term limits for members of Congress and is working toward that goal”?

The concept of a balanced federal budget and congressional term limits is something that I have pondered for many years in my adult life. Several years ago, it drove me to become involved in the Tea Party movement.

But this time, it’s different. The Convention of States effort is a well-oiled machine, it is organized, has a clear unambiguous objective, and is gaining momentum through its leadership and army of volunteers.  Additionally, the aspirations of this movement appeal to people of any political persuasion.

I am excited to be a part of it.  But this grassroots effort is a marathon and not a sprint.  I am prepared to be involved for the long haul.
