Whiplash
| Obama did it, Trump did it, then Biden did it, and now Trump is doing it again. All a president needs is a phone and a pen to unconstitutionally pass administrative rules that shape our national reality. And none of it’s permanent. Can you imagine the frustration of our national allies who never know whether they can count on the United States from one administration to another? What must it be like for citizens and foreign investors knowing that policies will tend to dramatically shift to polar opposite positions every four years? Can our national allies trust the US, and should our dictatorial enemies fear us? Our enemies can choose to wait out a presidential term until conditions are more favorable in four years to conduct their mischief. Every four years the United States’ policies lurch to drastic extremes while our citizens, allies, and investors grow weary of the whiplash! The American people feel this too. How can the United States return to a more steady form of governance based in the Constitution rather than the temporary influence of a dynamic president? The States must use Article V to initiate permanent restraints on all federal judicial, legislative, bureaucratic, and executive powers to those boundaries set forth in the 1787 federal Constitution. Only amendments to the Constitution can ensure permanent laws that guarantee a Constitutional and contiguous balance of American ideals across presidential administration. |
