What is Governor Northam's COVID exit plan?

| It's become abundantly clear to millions of Americans that a lot of the lockdown measures taken by power-hungry politicians have proven to be ineffective. And yet, even as evidence mounts of the disastrous side-effects of these useless lockdowns, politicians continually insist on prolonging their excessive and overreaching power grabs. There is no better example of this than Governor Northam. The Commonwealth of Virginia has remained in Phase Three of Northam's Reopening Plan since July 1, with the governor giving no indication of when he will lift the remaining restrictions in place. In addition, the governor issued a mask mandate for the state back in May, forcing all citizens to wear a mask in indoor facilities Yet, when analyzing the data from Virginia, we find that not only have these lockdown measures failed to curb the spread of the virus, but we also see that the mask mandate has also failed to stop COVID from spreading throughout the Commonwealth. When the indoor mask mandate was issued on May 26, there were roughly 12,000 COVID cases in the state, according to the Virginia Department of Health. As of today, there are roughly 164,000 confirmed COVID cases in the state, with many more asymptomatic cases unidentified. Similar failures of mask mandates have also been seen in states like Hawaii and California. Coupled with a falling seven-day moving average and a plummet in COVID-related deaths, there is no good reason for why Northam hasn't lifted all restrictions.  So why no action? The answer is simple. These restrictions provide Northam and government officials with the means and power to control the Virginia citizenry. Rather than following the science and data, politicians like Northam continue to utilize the fear of this virus to control and manipulate the American people. There's no better example of this than the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, where local officials have implemented their own ludicrous mask mandates that go beyond what Northam has implemented. In Charlottesville officials have made violating the mandate a class four misdemeanor, with fines ranging from $250 to $500. In Albemarle not wearing a face mask is a class one misdemeanor that could result in a fine up to $2,500 and/or up to 12 months in jail. The county has also created an “ambassador program,” where government officials will “visit local businesses across the county to share information about the local ordinance, offer signage that can be posted at local businesses about cloth face coverings, and see how businesses are working with customers to observe all provisions of the ordinance.” Needless to say, these ordinances have absolutely nothing to do with the science and everything to do with control. The simple fact is that there is no amount of government overreach or intervention that is going to stop the spread of this virus. The best thing for government to do is to step out of the way and let the American people do what they feel is best with regard to the virus. However, this will only happen when We the People employ their right to self-governance that the Founders established for us. It is our job to hold government officials in check, from local to state and national levels.
