Volunteers Needed for Gun Show Outreach
After the Florida school shooting, Article V may be the only way to save the Second Amendment.
| The Florida 19-year-old did everything to reveal his intent except wearing a neon sign saying, “I’m going to murder schoolchildren. Stop me if you can.” The FBI and local authorities from school officials to law enforcement utterly failed—apparently to understand what a dot is, let alone to connect them. Worse, several officers who were armed and duty-bound to intervene sat outside and listened to the slaughter as it was going down. With government at every level failing in Florida, the Left’s response is more government control. This is blind faith. For the far-Left, the government is its church and the federal government its Vatican City, Mecca, and Jerusalem all rolled into one. No matter the problem, no matter the evidence of incompetence, the Left’s answer is always “less liberty, more government.” What every gun show attendee knows is that the Second Amendment protects his or her right to “keep and bear arms.” Many are not aware, however, how Article V of the Constitution can help defend that right from those eager to use every atrocity by a deranged murderer to justify eliminating it. For that reason, Convention of States Virginia will sponsor information booths at three gun shows in March. There we will find an audience that desperately needs to be better informed about Article V. Below are the details. Even if you have only a few hours to contribute, please step-up and volunteer by contacting the persons shown. For all gun show attendees, let the show’s management know you are pleased when COS is present. If we are not there, let them know you think we should be. Gun show organizers hear from those who oppose us a lot, so it is very important they also hear from customers like you.
