Update on Pending Legislation

On Monday, March 27, the Georgia House of Representatives will likely be voting on a piece of legislation that may be important to, and impact, COS supporters like you.

Senate Bill 233, titled “The Georgia Promise Scholarship Act,” is awaiting third reading in the House. If it passes, it will be sent to Governor Brian Kemp to be signed into law. The bill's summary states, in part, “A bill to be entitled an Act to amend Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to education, so as to provide for the establishment of promise scholarship accounts to be funded by the state in the amount of $6,000.00 per school year for each participating student…“

If this is a bill of interest to you, there is still time for you to contact your House Representative to provide your input as a constituent. You can locate your House member's contact information by clicking here.

Thank you for your continued support of Convention of States in Georgia! If you're interested in getting more involved with our movement, consider becoming a volunteer today.
