Entitled "Convention of States effort surges as Trump aims at shrinking size, scope of federal government", the piece was authored by Amanda Head and published on September 21. It discusses the process of calling a limited-purpose Article V convention, a convention’s potential to impact the national debt and impose term limits on federal officials, and President Donald Trump's mandate to curb the power of the federal government. As Just the News reported, presidents such as Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan have supported the convention mechanism outlined in Article V of the Constitution, but “no president has thrown his imprimatur behind the effort. Trump could change that.” Convention of States President Mark Meckler is quoted as saying “There’s nobody more important and more appropriate to help lead the charge than President Trump.” Meckler is quoted extensively, including the following observation about the importance of the movement and the moment: “I think the future of the country is at stake. I don't think that's an overstatement. Elections are always critically important, and every election is the most important election of our lifetime.
