Texas House to vote on COS resolution TODAY
Music to our ears.
| Austin, Texas, fancies itself as the live music capital of the world and the Texas House of Representatives has the chance to make some sweet Article V music this afternoon when it debates and votes upon the COS resolution without an expiration date. Today, April 28, the Texas House is scheduled to take up House Joint Resolution (HJR) 98. The House session begins at 12:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. CT and HJR 98 is slated to be the headliner as it is first on today's House calendar (following old business and other matters). All of the action will be streamed on COS LIVE, and you can follow by clicking below: HJR 98 is a new application that does not contain an expiration date, unlike the resolution that passed the Texas legislature in 2017 and made Texas the eleventh state in the union to call for an Article V convention. The Texas House Committee on State Affairs approved HJR 98 following a vote on April 2, which followed follows public testimony that was held in Austin on March 26. Among others, Convention of States Action President and Co-founder Mark Meckler and Texas Rep. Cody Vasut – a strong legislative champion for COS – provided eloquently powerful arguments in favor of HJR 98, emphasizing that liberty does not have an expiration date. This follows testimony that was delivered just last week.
