Building the COS Army needs to take on a new, fresh approach.
| Building the COS Army needs to take on a new, fresh approach. An approach that recognizes we are all one – citizens of this great nation, and we are all in this together. Using terms like Republican, Democrat, liberal, and conservative compartmentalizes people into their comfort zones, and they won’t come out. It’s an easy trap to fall into. There is strength in finding common ground. Understanding that we need to engage people with the aim to make America a better place. Discussing federal fiscal restraints to address the burgeoning federal deficit, term limits for Congress, and returning power to the states are topics that people can and likely want to embrace. With a non-partisan approach, we are likely to find common ground. As we talk to others, let's keep that in mind, because common ground is the key to our success. Historically, Americans have rallied around great causes, and the Convention of States is a great one. |
