CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, called elections at regular intervals.

Political will resides in the people. In America, the Constitution creates a government that needs the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, called elections, at regular intervals. The consent is created by spontaneous order, controlled by no one, however; co-existing and subservient within is hierarchy government and the parties. The reverse, losing the free market economy and all choice based on self-interest, doesn't exist so long as we actually vote responsibly. We must believe that our vote does affect our lives so we vote in our best self-interest. “Adam Smith put it, an individual who “intends only his own gain” is led by an invisible hand to promote an end which was no part of his intention. Nor is it always the worse for the society that it was no part of it. By pursuing his own interest he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it.” (Ref: “Free to Choose” Milton & Rose Friedman 1979 Introduction) They cannot eliminate spontaneous order drive by self interest. We must never accept corruption, which requires voting out those that act for the interest of government. Without taking the responsibility of being or supporting replacement candidates, they win over and over again. We also need a Supreme Court that simply interrupts the Constitution, instating of making laws. This present court has shown that it can do this. We need to call a Convention of States to remove past overreaches that are unconstitutional. Fiscal constraints and term limits on federal officials can solve the problems we see today. The Founders never expected that the majority of people elected would be professional politicians. An Article V convention will have a profound effect on the nation's future prosperity. Calling a convention can add amendments to the Constitution to limit the power of the federal government. The power can return to the states with Convention of States! |
