Self governance through the Electoral College? Yes!
| On Thursday, March 18, Convention of States New Jersey hosted its second webinar of the year, titled Preserving and Practicing Self-Governance. Please listen to this very informative discussion. You might want to have a pen and paper nearby to take notes, because there is much to learn about the importance of the Electoral College. In this webinar, Chris Garzino (COS New Jersey Coalitions Director) interviewed Trent England the Founder and Executive Director of SAVE OUR STATES, an organization dedicated to protecting the Electoral College from those who want to dismantle it with a national popular vote (NPV). (HR1 and SR1 are currently being promoted and debated at the time of this writing). The discussion ranged from the history of the Electoral College, current and past attempts to eliminate this vital constitutional safeguard, the reasons for the Electoral College, and how the Electoral College protects and enables our system of self-governance. COS New Jersey would like to thank Trent for sharing his time and wealth of knowledge with us in this informative webinar.
