August's SCW Lunch and Learn examines an important topic
| In your role as a State Content Writer, have you ever been unsure of what constitutes an appropriate topic for the COS blog, a letter to the editor, or even correspondence addressed to a state legislator? Have you ever worried about coming across as too partisan or whether the really creative piece that you just finished composing is actually related to an Article V convention? In other words, are you unclear or unsure about what is germane to COS? This month’s Lunch and Learn for State Content Writers will address that very subject! National staff writers Jake Fay and Matt May will co-host a discussion that examines various questions and scenarios related to the concept of what is germane when writing about our organization’s stories, aspirations, achievements, and grassroots volunteers. We will also hear from our special guest, Convention of States Action staff counsel William Kelly, who will provide a thorough and thoughtful overview of the legal parameters of writing about COS and an Article V convention, and gladly answer any questions that you may have. The SCW Lunch and Learn is held on the third Tuesday of each month. This month’s call will take place on August 20 at 3:00 p.m. ET. You can join by using this Meetn link.
