Mr. Chairman It is widely reported that the bond market is beginning to show its concern about $2 trillion annual  deficits and our ever growing $36 trillion national debt. Whether you like them or not, bond traders know  that you cannot increase debt beyond your ability to re-pay it. Bond traders are in the business of getting  re-paid. When we were before this body two years ago with this resolution the US debt was just over $31 trillion.  At the current rate, total US debt will be over $50 trillion in five short years. By the end of the decade.  Interest on the debt will be the largest line item in our budget—larger than Social Security, Medicare, and  certainly defense. It will be approaching the actual level of income taxes that we pay.  One trillion is a thousand billions, or if you want to put it a different way a million millions.  It is a 1 with 12 zeros after it.  One trillion seconds is 32,000 years. We are now adding one trillion dollars of debt every 100 days. You have the power to step in and stop this madness. You can participate by supporting this call for an  amendments proposing convention that is strictly limited to proposing restraints on federal spending and  over reach. Or, you can continue to watch a run away federal government implode our fiscal house. In our lifetimes, Congress has rejected a balanced budget amendment over 100 times. It’s not going to  approve one during this session or any time soon. The Convention of States resolution before you already  has 19 states on board. We only need 15 more to call a convention and put an end to this fiscal madness  and other federal over reach.  We want members of this body to go and participate in a process that will propose amendments to reign in the federal government. We want well crafted amendments from that convention to come back to this  body for consideration and possible ratification. This is your chance to do something on an issue of dire consequence. Vote yes on ill_name_here
