Richard Legg and Bill Guiffredo Honored

Two outstanding members of the COS CT team received the distinguished Challenge Coin Award at the recent 2025 National Grassroots Leadership Summit held in Indiana.

Volunteer Activist Bill Guiffredo and Coalitions Director Richard Legg were both honored for their significant contributions.

Both Bill and Richard exemplify our team’s most valuable players because they consistently go the extra mile. “They are our unofficial set-up guys for every country fair event, often working 10-hour days to raise COS awareness and gather more petitions,” stated Maureen Zollo, COS State Director.  Additionally, they conduct independent research on various issues to educate supporters, attend all team meetings, serve as passionate speakers at our monthly Patriot Gathering events, and have developed good relationships with their legislators.

This prestigious award was presented to a select group of volunteer activists from states across the nation. Regional Director Haley Shaw and Assistant Regional Director Cyndi Franco presented the awards to Bill and Richard. Mark Meckler also offered them his heartfelt appreciation.

When asked about the award, both Bill and Richard expressed gratitude and renewed commitment to the COS mission.

“I feel energized and knighted by this award,” said Guiffredo.  “My lifelong love of history, faith, and our sacred Republic comes together in my work for COS. I feel like an archaeologist uncovering forgotten history that can help to understand current events, pointing to principles expressed by our founding fathers as part of the solution for today’s very complex political climate.”

Richard Legg expressed similar thoughts on receiving the prestigious Coin Award. “I bring my life skills and experience to help in whatever ways are needed,” said Legg.  “I’m honored by this recognition and will continue to talk with state representatives and help to gather more petitions. This is a movement that will protect and benefit generations to come.”

Both Guiffredo and Legg have earned the respect of everyone on the COS CT team. They are an inspiration and set the example for commitment and perseverance.
