The Power of Prayer

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks,
be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and
peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (

1 Timothy 2:1-2)

God promises that our prayers are answered as we pray in unity for our grassroots to be the
spiritual movement that overcomes the evil we are fighting in America.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Remember that our battle is a spiritual battle and prayer is our greatest strategy.

Daily Prayer Guide for January 2024

Praise God for a new year and for all

the ways God has blessed Convention of

States in 2023. Take time today to reflect

on those blessings and pray special

prayers of gratitude.

2 -

Please continue to pray for Regional

Director Grant Martin and his family after

the loss of Grant’s wife Sherri in

November.

3 - MD:

State Director Michael Rilee is still

struggling with Lyme disease and/or ALS.

Prayers for his doctors to receive wisdom

and strength for Michael and his family.

4 - PA:

State Director Jared Bill's wife is

currently in remission from cancer. Please

pray for a continued path of remission and

healing.

5 - ID:

Regional Captain Guy Monahan is

in need of prayers for gallbladder issues.

Pray for clarity from doctors and a way

toward healing.

6 - KY:

Continued prayers for Sammy

Walker on our Veterans Coalition Directors

Team fighting prostate cancer.

7 - SC:

Please pray for Matt Bell, the son-

in-law of South Carolina team member

Chris Poyatt. Matt has been diagnosed

with two brain tumors and will be having

surgery this month. Additionally, Chris has

suffered a lot of loss this year and it has

been very tough on her. Please pray that

God will strengthen Chris.

8 - MT:

Pray for Regional Captain Clifford

Sisko who is still recovering from a serious

Covid infection. Clifford also lost his wife

during his hospital stay. Please pray for

healing physically and God’s comfort

spiritually as he grieves.

9 - MD:

Pray for all members of the

Maryland State Team as we prepare to

embark on the 2024 legislative session

which begins January 10th. Pray that God

will guide our team with patience and

grace in preparing for testimony.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in

the hearts of men and women across the

country, causing a turn of heart back to

God. Pray for the children in America, that

they will have God’s truth.

11 - PA:

State Communications

Coordinator James (Jim) O'Connor

suffered an injury in November and has

had to have multiple surgeries to heal

correctly. Pray for Jim's healing and for

wise pain management from his doctors

and nurses.

Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of

the United States wrote in

a letter

“The

Christian religion . . . . .is a religion of all

others most friendly to liberty, science, and

the freest expansion of the human mind.”

Pray for a revitalization of new ideas,

inventions and strategies in America to

better our country.

13 - SC:

Sam and Nadine McDonald

continue to recover from surgeries. Please

keep them in your prayers.

14 - MT:

District Captain Donna Chippewa

needs prayer for healing of medical issues

and prayer for relief of financial burdens

associated with a car accident.

15 -

Pray that the COS patriots will all be

servant leaders as they lead in their

church, their home and in their

communities.

16 - SD:

Pray as legislative sessions open

this month, that COS Resolutions will be

looked upon favorably.

17 -

Pray for us to recognize the blessing

God has given us in John 1:12, that “He

gave us the right, the privilege to become

children of God” and that is the highest

honor we can receive.

18 -

Pray Robert Treat Paine’s

confession

inspired by Romans 1:16 “I’m now

convinced that it is my duty openly to

profess Him lest He be ashamed to own

me another day.”

19 - MT:

Pray for patience and wisdom for

volunteer Lyle Rich in dealing with family

relationship issues.

20 - SD:

Pray that God would shine upon

our prime sponsor, Senator Tom Piscke,

as he presents our Resolution.

21 - MD:

Pray for successful preparations

for Surge Day Jan 24 and in navigating the

hall of the Maryland State House

22 - NC:

Pray for a spirit of hopefulness

and steadfastness in our volunteers as we

execute on our strategy to advance our

resolution in the senate. Pray that more

volunteers want to get involved.

Pray that all COS patriots are abiding

in the example displayed by Paul in 1

Corinthians 11:1 as they enter the

legislative houses this session: “Be

imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.”

24 - MT:

Pray God comforts District

Captain Team member Nanette Pourroy as

she grieves the loss of her brother.

25 - TX:

Our State Leadership Summit

takes place January 26-28th in Dallas.

Pray that the grassroots get reignited, get

back in the fight, for safe travels to and

from the event and a fruitful meeting.

26 - KY:

Continued prayers for the roles

we need filled within our state leadership.

27 -

Pray against the spirit of division in

our country as we prepare for the national

election this year. Pray God brings

Americans together over the liberty gifted

to us by our founders.

28 -

Pray that truth will be revealed in

every dark place that is needed, as

George Washington said in his

farewell

address of 1796

“I hold the maxim no less

applicable to public than to private affairs,

that honesty is always the best policy” and

as Psalm 141:3 prays, “Set a guard, O

Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the

door of my lips.”

Pray Thomas Paine’s prayer on this,

the day of his birth: “Give me liberty or

give me death!”

30 - MT:

Sherri Norton needs prayers for

relief of job pressures and stress.

31 -

Pray for our schools across the

country: from preschool to graduate

schools. Pray that God would lead a

renewal of Spirit and truth among

professors and teachers and a hunger for

truth among students.
