Mark Meckler's Comments

Politics are nuanced - there are many factors invoved in every action.  We need to practive evaluating stances with research and thoughtful consideration.  Rarely are the actions as they seem on the surface.  Important considerations:

* Do you have an opinion?  You are not required to have one on every issue nor are you required to share it if you do!
* Do you know the rationale for your decision, not the pundits, yours.
* Critical that we research the issue if we are going to form an opinion on it. Without a full understanding, we are just spouting heresay.
* You can always say, “It is my gut feeling.” That lets others know that you are speaking personally and not from an expert opinion or parroting something your heard in the media.

We should always judge people for their potential, not their past.

Be sure to reach out with 5 for Article V - this is a campaign to obtain signatures on petitions from our friends and relatives.  Can you imagine how many petitions we could get if everyone got 5 people? It is an easy ask, let's all do it!!

Legislative Activity

We are changing our terminology at COS!  As we move into District Season, we refocus closer to home than while in the Capitol (Legislative) Season.  It is time for us to get our teams fired up about connecting with their legislators on our home turf.  This is the easiest time for us to connect with our legislators.  We need to also focus on building our teams to be the best we can be as we strive to fulfill the mission of Growing the Largest Grassroots Army!

District Captain Activity

KUDOS to the Top Most Active DC teams by % in the Passed States - Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Missippi, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Great Job teams!!

District Captain and Volunteer activity is an area we really need to focus on. Those activity reports are available to communicate to our donors all the great work each of you are doing out there in the trenches! It only takes a second to file an activity report on your phone or computer. And for those District Captains reading this, we need to strive for 100% activity in Citizen Builder!

Fun Facts for the Week

George Washington was born on February 11, 1731 under the Julian calendar. In the early 1750s, Great Britain converted to the Gregorian calendar. An act of Parliament added eleven days to complete the adjustment and Washington's birthday became February 22, 1732!

Social Media Program

Let's all help with the new Social Media Program! Watch for your notifications or emails at 10:00 AM Eastern Monday thru Friday.  Takes only about 1-3 minutes to carry out the call to action!  It has proven to be one of our most effective tools!!

http://www.conventionofstates.com/social

As with all new things, a few rules follow - remember:

Do NOT tag or message legislators;
Do NOT ask others to contact legislators or sign the petition; and
Do NOT post on legislator's posts or pages

We are getting lots of good feedback from this program, the more who participate, the greater the impact! Let's all get involved!!  We have even picked up several very active sites that are following us now and posting about COS.  Per Mark Meckler - please tell as many people as possible to participate in the Social Media effort to help us combat negative comments there!

Feel free to use your .us email address now! You can now start using your COS email address with the .us ending. Everything else remains the same except for the .us instead of .com! This does not require any action on your part.

Your old .com address will forward to the new address. If you purchase business cards or any other material with your email address on it, please use the new cosaction.us.

Spoiler Alert - you will still need to sign into Citizen Builder with whatever email address you have used in the past!
