OK 2023 Session Ending May 26
| On Friday, May 26,the Oklahoma Legislative Session comes to an end. COS has been tracking some bills that may be important to and impact COS supporters like you. There is still time for you, a self-governing citizen, to make an impact on your community. Senate Bill 1056 addresses the definition of Obscenity and the summary states, “Obscene material; making certain acts unlawful; adult performance in public place.” Please follow the link for more information. SCR 12 is a Concurrent Resolution “calling for equal treatment of college students; expecting institutions to respect the Constitutional protection of equality; respecting all students' beliefs; removing DEI; stopping funding at DEI-teaching institutions.” You can read more by clicking the link. SCR 11 is also a Concurrent Resolution. The summary states, in part, that the resolution is “opposing any corporation silencing voices; supporting First Amendment rights and encouraging freedom of speech.” Follow the link to learn more.
