Ohio grassroots leave it all on the field

“They just keep getting better.”


Two Ohio state teams have had impressive years this year — one on the football field and the other in the state legislature.

Of course, the long march to victory in the legislature is less rapid than a football game (especially in Ohio, where bills must face multiple committee hearings before advancing for a full chamber vote). But the Buckeye State grassroots have once again shown that persistence and resolve can outlast even the most entrenched opposition.

Showing up for the third public hearing on HJR 2, the Convention of States application for an Article V convention, introduced by Rep. Riordan T. McClain and Rep. Bernard Willis, our activists continued their months-long drive to mint Ohio as the 20th state to join the Convention of States movement.

Originally slated as a hearing for opponents and “interested parties,” the Ohio House Committee on Government Oversight pivoted last-minute to a proponent-only hearing. (You can watch this year’s earlier proponent-only hearing here.)
