Not helpless/We can Reduce the Waste!
Are we helpless? What can we possibly do, as even voting often does not seem to change the status quo? One meaningful way is to take action that the Framers gave us in Article V. It is there to be used!

After a hiatus in our reporting on some notable examples of the squandering of our tax dollars … yes/it does get depressing(!).. we decided we must persist and focus our attention on these crazed spending sprees as we have a purpose, not just to lament the excesses, but to see real progress with some penalties or justice delivered to those responsible..
So, here is yet another eye popping example of just how wasteful our federal government has grown to be - spending like a drunken sailor on leave.
Plus - remember this additional news item revealing another exorbitantly expensive federal “failure to launch” program?
“Vice President Kamala Harris was tasked with overseeing the rollout of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed in 2021. Here’s a breakdown of the spending:
$42.45 billion in federal grant funding through the BEAD program, aimed at expanding broadband access to underserved and rural U.S. communities
.
Another $5.5 billion was designated specifically to the USDA for rural broadband in smaller communities (< 20,000 people)
.
Critics have pointed out that $849 million of the BEAD allocation has been reserved by the NTIA for administrative purposes, drawing sharp attention from Republican lawmakers over its usage
So, in total:
Program Amount
BEAD broadband grants $42.45 billion
USDA rural broadband carve‑out $5.5 billion
Total broadband-related funding - Part of an overall $90 billion initiative
Administrative reserve (NTIA) - $849 million
To summarize:
As of late 2024 into 2025, multiple reports state that “not one home or person” has been connected via BEAD.”

Convention of States offers us the only sustainable approach to implement reductions of waste and return powers back to the states that were never intended to be usurped by Washington DC.
Few can argue with these proposed topics for consideration as amendment objectives to be determined by the states themselves - requiring ratification by 38 states.
The 3 topics/issues to be addressed in an Article V Convention that our grass roots movement has proposed are as follows:
1. Term Limits for Congress & Bureaucrats in Washington DC
2. Fiscal Responsibility
3. Reduction in the size and scope of the federal government
