Plus - remember this additional news item revealing another exorbitantly expensive federal “failure to launch” program? “Vice President Kamala Harris was tasked with overseeing the rollout of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed in 2021. Here’s a breakdown of the spending: $42.45 billion in federal grant funding through the BEAD program, aimed at expanding broadband access to underserved and rural U.S. communities . Another $5.5 billion was designated specifically to the USDA for rural broadband in smaller communities (< 20,000 people) .
