Town requirements

This document will guide you through the process of learning what is required as well as the path
to gathering signed petitions for a Warrant Article applying for a special election in your town

There are two methods to submit a Warrant Article: request it either be added to the annual town
election, or you can apply for a Special Election at any time.  Different milestones must be met, as well
as timing considerations for registered voters.

For each Town/City:

Annual Town Election -
>Requires the lesser of at least 25 signed registered voter petitions or 2% by registered voters
regardless of the population of the town or city

Special Election request -
>If town has fewer than 10,000 “inhabitants”: lesser of at least 50 registered voter signed petitions or

at least 25% signed by Registered Voters
>If town has more than 10,000 “inhabitants”: petitions signed by at least 5% by registered voters (10,000
would require 500+ petition signatures)

Let’s gather our patriots and secure our voting process in our towns AND our
State. Please reach out with any questions.
