NE NJ East Regional Meeting 1/19/22

Attendees discuss principles that compel grassroots activists to press onward.

Who We Are? What compels us, as patriotic citizen activists, to unite around the common cause provided for us in Article V of the Constitution stands as the theme of our January 2022 Northeast NJ Convention of States (COS) Meetings. Every NE NJ gathering starts with the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag and a Prayer thanking God our Savior for each other and the Land of the Free.

”I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Szilvia Marsa states, ‘It still gives me chills every time it is recited!’.

Bob Nordin, NE NJ Regional Captain, gave us the first task of recounting the reasons for and ideas that come to our mind as we think of ACTIVISM.  Everyone was really into this dialog, very adamant and purposeful in responding:

Honor, Dignity, Patriotism, God, Respect, Truth, Determined, Fight, Accountability, Conservative, Unity Optimism, Ethics, Order, Relationships, Empathy, Duty, Freedom, Restoration, Law, Fight, Morality, Protection, Justice, Honesty, Transparency,
Faith, Hope, and Love.

It became quickly apparent by the time we matched these to the mission statement of COS, to build the largest army of grassroots activists, the core values of We the People drives our resolve to work for the restoration of our Republic and that these principles are what makes this organization strong.

Next on the agenda for the group was to speak about why and how we all got interested and involved in the Convention of States. It seemed that everyone was thinking about the future and the faith of our children. Of course, we got derailed a little bit by citing our grievances, the unjust (and unconstitutional), anti-American current actions of the Government, but these also contribute to a drive towards self-governance. We refocused on this aspect of our work: that our power is in a united, non - partisan Patriotic Allegiance. This led directly to a very active Q and A session. Our guests had a chance to get more information to learn about volunteering with COS.

Glenn Barone, Central West NJ Regional Captain, and Bob Nordin explained our Constitutional Rights, why and how the Convention of States works, the importance of grassroots organizations, and being involved to save our Constitutional Republic. They stressed the point that we were always meant to be active and checking on our elected officials, that the citizens actually have all the power to hold them accountable or even recall them, which we have not utilized for a really long time. Hence the runaway and ever-expanding Government.

We next gladly reported the latest COS NEWS: Wisconsin and Nebraska passing the COS Resolution, many states that advanced COS either in committee or one of their legislatures, then watched our current 2021 COS in Review through a fantastic short film created by our COS Media Department. Francesca Nordin and Richard Seibel (both county committee members) shared the importance of the involvement by patriotic citizens at the local level of government: the school boards, city council, county commission, state assembly, and senate thereby ensuring Constitutional principles of governance provide balance in the decision making process in our land.

We would like to give thanks to our host, Bergen County Harley Davidson, for allowing us the use of the conference area. Thirty-Nine people gathered, which is a larger COS meeting for New Jersey. Bob Nordin, Regional Captain, and Richard Bruno, NE NJ Events Coordinator set up the room. Francesca Nordin, District Captain LD 26 arranged a full information table: New Jersey and Gadsden Flags, COS brochures, pocket Constitutions, event agenda, and sign-in paperwork right at the entrance of the second-floor meeting room. Last, but never least, we thank our State Videographer Don MacLeay for photography.

Refreshments were provided, which were greatly appreciated by all during a time of fellowship at the end of our meeting. This writer states ‘I am so grateful for the great and like-minded people who are working together. This really is a big family, all around!’
