Nancy Pelosi brags about her faith… and abortion
The former Speaker of the House says she has an angel on her shoulder.
| California Representative and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who recently filed to run for her 21st consecutive term in 2026, bragged about how she disobeyed her archbishop regarding Communion and abortion. Although the Catholic Church openly condemns abortion, Pelosi, who calls herself a “devout Catholic,” has frequently praised “reproductive care.” In 2022, Pelosi’s bishop, Salvatore Cordileone, publicly barred her from receiving Communion due to her support for abortion. However, in a recent interview, she revealed that she “received Communion anyway.” “That’s his problem, not mine,” she said.\\ \\ She added that she believes she has “an angel on my shoulder.” On another occasion, Pelosi accused pro-life Americans of being “willing to sell the whole democracy down the river for that one issue.” SEE ALSO: ‘Made up positions for family members’: DOGE may cut Pelosi family member’s job Cordileone warned Pelosi that she had committed a “manifestly grave sin” and that she must disavow abortion before participating in Communion again. “I am hereby notifying you that you are not to present yourself for Holy Communion and, should you do so, you are not to be admitted to Holy Communion, until such time as you publicly repudiate your advocacy for the legitimacy of abortion and confess and receive absolution of this grave sin in the sacrament of Penance,” he commanded. The bishop later clarified that he did not mean to judge Pelosi but to “correct, admonish and call to conversion.” “What immediately comes to my mind,” he said, “are the words of the prophet Ezekiel: ‘If the just turn away from their right conduct and do evil when I place a stumbling block before them, then they shall die. Since you did not warn them about their sin, they shall still die, and the just deeds that they performed will not be remembered on their behalf. I will, however, hold you responsible for their blood. If, on the other hand, you warn the just to avoid sin, and they do not sin, they will surely live because of the warning, and you in turn shall save your own life.’” |
