Newsmax Reports CA Senate Democrats Rescinded All Past Article V Resolutions Due to Fears

The August 2025 issue of Newmax magazine has an item in “State of the States”, page 26, reporting that California Democrats have decided against supporting a national constitutional convention.

A resolution by CA Senator Scott Wiener rallied 15 state senators “to shift their support away from the idea.”

As happens all too often, deceitful wording quoted in the article raises fear that the Trump administration would rewrite the Constitution itself. “No guardrails once a convention has been triggered”, intones the article. Thus, “California must do its part to prevent this chaos.” These charges have repeatedly been shown to be without merit and are nothing more than fear mongering.

Those of us in Convention of States Action in all the other states may wish to give emotional and prayer support to our CA grassroots brothers and sisters as they work to educate every state legislator to the need for, and the facts of how Article V will work.
