May Meeting in Brighton Covered Strengths and Weaknesses
Still covering the four sections of the SWOT analysis, the focus this month was on the internal factors that are affecting meeting success.
District Captain for HD10 (Boulder area), Todd Reed covered weaknesses. He did a slide show that covered creative ideas to improve the participation within the COS meetings that addressed introducing new attendees, increasing attendance, improving participation and organizing a productive meeting.

His focus addressed the need to better organize meetings, make new people feel welcome and for all attendees to want to feel free to participate and interact.
Ashley Greene, District Captain for HD 48 (Brighton and Fort Lupton area), covered the current strengths that they can lean on and use to their advantage. Monthly meetings have strong attendance and support from a reliable base of people. Building on these determined supporters, the meetings can begin to increase knowledge on the mechanics of Convention of States, Article V, The Constitution in general, the COS Resolution and the legislative process, 34 | Ready, and so many other necessary subjects.

An educated grassroots team is a strong force for growth for Convention of States in Northern and Eastern Colorado.
After the meeting ended, Todd Reed had brought a guest who brought his ukulele and had written a song about Convention of States. He performed his song for the group.

It was a productive meeting for attendees with two new people there. Wayne is very happy with group participation. He has been working as a COS leader in the area for six years and at 81, he's looking for the younger participants to start taking over while he enjoys attending meetings without so much responsibility.
Wayne has kept these meetings going for nearly three years. He started doing this in 2022 at Spicy Tacos in Brighton. He has found many leaders and volunteers in the area and now he's working to unite them and teach them how to continue the messaging, one supporter at a time.

We have such an important mission. America belongs to its People. Period. We must continue what we're doing and we are finding the people here in Colorado to not only continue what we're doing in our state as Convention of States supporters but growing what we're doing and strengthening how we do it. That was May's message and we have the right people there to make it happen. |
