===== Convention of States Action Priority Is More Petitions =====

The mission of Convention of States Action is to build a strong, engaged army of self-governing activists.

With the Kansas Legislature adjourned until January our grassroots priority is clear - MORE PETITIONS!

* More petitions means that state senators and representatives are seeing their constituents requesting that they take action and pass the COS resolution.
* More petitions remind Kansas legislators that SCR1604 will be on the table upon their return to Topeka in January.
* More petitions are signed everyday, providing a steady reminder that Kansans value self-governance and want the Kansas Legislature to be one of the 34 state legislatures applying for an amendment convention.
* More petitions mean that more Kansans understand that limited government can be made permanent with a few good amendments.

===== Grassroots Action =====

Ask your neighbors and friends to sign the petition on-line at conventionofstates.com. Tell them that you signed the petition because you believe the Founders knew we would get to a point where the government would be uncontrollable. Now it is time to reassert control of the People. We have three ways to do this.

- Speak to each of your friends one-on-one. This is the easiest way to reach your friends, in person or on the phone. Show them the Jim Demint video from Prager University. They may want to watch former Senator Demint's address to the Wichita Pachyderm Club from 2017. Remind them that the debt was only $20 trillion in 2017 but how is $36 trillion. Demint spoke about the corruption being revealed today.
- Invite a number of your friends to your house for a beverage and share the video or your own story in the comfort of your home. Maybe a friend will host for you. This is a great way to start doing something that can restore the original purpose of government. You can even make it a block party! Several COS volunteers are planning a Memorial Day block party on May 26. This is a great time to come together to remember the sacrifices of those in the past before us and consider what we can do today. Learn about hosting a neighborhood meeting
- Invite local COS volunteers to come to your neighborhood and knock on doors. We will bring the clipboards and handouts. Click on the red button below. Provide your name and phone number and we will get back to you. You would be surprised to learn how few people even know they can do more than waiting for Washington to fix itself. #

==== Government is Corrupt and Out of Control ====

George Soros' judges can resist government reform but they cannot cancel a ratified constitutional amendment. Well-crafted constitutional amendments can make our intent clear and put limits on all three branches of government. Let's make things clear. Immigration, fiscal accountability, executive authority, authority of judiciary.

Subsidiarity is the principle that government power should reside at the lowest feasible level. Our founders built this into our federal system but it has become lost. Local and state governments have come to believe they are nothing but a collective for federal money. (Federal money: money printed by a private bank and loaned to our national bureaucracy subject to repayment by our grandchildren.) Remind people that the convention-proposed amendments can return subsidiarity to our government.
