"MAGA" & "NO Kings" both fighting for freedom.
| “MAGA” & “NO KINGS” both fighting for “freedom” with different ideas about what that word means. Although from different perspectives, MAGA and NO KINGS share a common goal - freedom. Choosing different paths to accomplish their mission, and expressing different points of view about who is trampling their autonomy. NO KINGS despise President Trump and think of him as a dictator trying to take away their privileges. The MAGA movement thinks President Trump is the person who can save America and the Constitution and sees him as a possible savior of our precious liberty, a person who is trying with all of the resources he has to restore our country’s balance and sovereignty.. They both believe they are right. NO KINGS say that President Trump is exceeding his authority by deporting illegal immigrants, closing our borders, and controlling our country. The perception of the MAGA folks (and perception is reality) is that President Biden and Vice President Harris destroyed the country with their open border policy. But as I said, perception is reality, and our belief systems determine our reality. Both movements are fighting for freedom, but with different ideas of how to achieve it. Both movements believe our form of government is a democracy, but that is incorrect We are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic. What is the difference? A democracy is majority rule, while a representative government means we elect people who are in office to represent the voice of the people. Whether our representatives do so or not is for another article. (Click here to learn more) This debate isn’t new; it started at the 1787 Philadelphia convention. The Framers rejected democracy as our form of government. To them, that was mob rule. They wanted the government to be deliberate and limited. In a democracy, the majority rules, but what about the rights of the minority? In a Republic, the majority must protect the rights of the minority. Our government was formed to protect individual rights, not dictate our behavior. I feel sorry for the people being deported except for the rapists, child molesters and murderers. No one wants to see family members pulled apart. At the same time, I ask myself why people can’t follow the rules, like coming into this country legally, like my grandparents did through Ellis Island. I also wonder why it has become a massive problem and division in our country that people can’t see that it is wrong to take care of others economically, psychologically, and socially who are not citizens. We are 37 trillion dollars in debt; we can’t take care of everyone. The lack of boundaries and borders destroys people, families, and countries. We can’t be all things to all people. But I am digressing. What I saw today in Philadelphia, while I was at a MAGA rally sponsored by “Flip Philly Red,” hundreds of people poured into Philadelphia, waving flags, quoting Thomas Jefferson. The NO KINGS event advanced their vision of America; the MAGA crowd advocated for what they believe. MAGA and NO KINGS share similarities, but with major differences. Both MAGA and NO KINGS want to keep our country free with no interference or dominance from any one person. MAGA believes in limited government, while NO KINGS supports a powerful central government. NO KINGS has turned a blind eye (no discussion anywhere) on the invasion at our southern border during the Biden administration, and the very serious damage that it did to our country. No one talks about the fact that President Trump is in the role now of trying to clean up the mess left from the Biden Administration, as well as from previous administrations; therefore, the President appears authoritative. President Trump is not a dictator; he is a strong leader, something the NO KINGS movement wants. They don’t like his vision for America; they want their vision of majority rule. NO KINGS calls him a fascist because the President is dismantling the government they have created over the past century. Do you remember Laken Riley, who was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant? To this end, all of Congress passed the Laken Riley Act. “This law mandates the federal detention of illegal immigrants who are accused of theft, burglary, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and any crime that causes death or serious bodily injury.” The Majority of Congress had regrets that such a tragedy was allowed to occur and passed the law. Laken Riley Act The responsibility for the many tragedies falls on the Biden Administration's shoulders. Laken Riley was not the only victim suffering brutally at the hands of illegal immigration and an open border policy for the sake of political power. We Americans have short-term memories. The egregious open border policy allowed by the Biden Administration should never be forgotten. God forbid it should happen to you or your family. In my opinion, it is directly related to politics and government overreach into our affairs. The major difference between the MAGA movement and the NO KINGS is the question you have to answer for yourself. Do you want a large, overburdening, intrusive government with no boundaries meddling in your affairs? Or a limited government with term limits, fiscal accountability, and limits on jurisdiction and overreach so that you, the citizen, have a voice and more control of his or her business? Learn more My suggestion to both groups, study the Constitution. Learn about a Convention of States and Article V, the little-known clause that gives a voice to “We the People” for limited government, the major difference between MAGA and NO KINGS. Learn the best and most permanent way to unify our country and to turn it around through a Convention of States using Article V. More resources If you learn about Article V, you will see that it gives you a say in your government. A much-needed say. |
