Kansas 1 TelePatriot Team Page
| This page for the Kansas 1 TelePatriot Team. We use the TelePatriot tool to active our supporters in specific voting districts or categories. This is an extremely effective way to activate supporters. Your role on Kansas 1 is an important part of our strategy to pass the COS resolution and move forward to a convention. If you are on this page you are either a member of Kansas 1 or exploring how a TelePatriot mission can be used. All Kansas 1 TelePatriot Volunteers are Volunteer Activists and indicated in their volunteer survey that they will make calls or are interested in being on the TelePatriot team. The first step of a new TelePatriot Volunteer is to download and install the COSAction app to your phone. It is a free app and if you are assigned as a TelePatriot Volunteer you will see the TelePatriot icon at the bottom of the COSAction start page. When a TelePatriot mission is activated you will receive a text, email or Zulip message saying that a new mission is active for Kansas 1. A quick reminder of the process. 1. Open the COSAction app on your phone, 2. Select the TelePatriot function at the bottom of the screen. 3. Select the Kansas 1 mission. A call will be queued up for you. 4. Before hitting the number to make the call you can review the script by touching the . . . 5. Make the call. There are several possible outcomes: * You speak to the person and you ask them if they will send a letter. * No answer and you leave a voice message. * No answer and VM is not available. * Number is disconnected or no longer in service. There are preformed call results to select for each of these results. You can also indicate if the number is disconnected or no VM. 6. If you spoke or left a message, or intend to send a text or email you select Assign tags and select the KS - Letters to Legislator Contact. This tag will be in the person's tag list indicating that a contact was made. 7. Select the appropriate preformed call result note or type a more specific summary of the call. 8. Select Done. At this time the call portion is complete and a new person will be queued up to call. You can either repeat the process (1 - 8) as many calls as you want to make OR you can hit Close to stop making calls. 9. If you hit Close you will go to the TP start page and see Teams, Parked, History. Select History. 10. You will see a list of you calls over the last 14 days. Select the first of your calls. You will have the opportunity to add the tag if you did not do it already. You will see the preformed or custom call note you made in 7. 11. Select Add Follow Up. You will have three options. None, Email and Text Message. Select one of the three. 12A. If you select None, just hit Cancel and you will go back to 11. Hit Back and you will go back to your call list. See 13. 12B. If you select Text Message the phone number will show up and you then select pre-formed message. The pre-formed message will appear. Hit Save. The text message will now be ready to send from your messaging app on your phone. Send it as you would any text. You are done unless you want add an email 12C. OR if you select Email the person's email address will show up and you can select the pre-formed email message. Hit Save. The email will be ready to send from the default email program on your phone. Send it. 13. Select another call from your History and Select the next call and start from 11. Keep sending emails or texts until you have added follow up to all your calls. 14. To start another call or series of calls select Teams and you will be back to step 3. Here is an **instruction video** made during GOTV (Get Out the Vote) campaigns. I find the easiest way to do these calls is after the phone is ringing you put the phone on speaker. Then hit the Home button, go back to the COSAction app and open the script ( . . . ).
