How We Fight – Reclaiming Liberty COS 2022 Summit
What is our weapon? The Constitution!
| Reclaiming Liberty COS 2022 Summit It was a privilege to be among my fellow patriots this past week to learn, share, and be inspired by the many speakers and classes available to COS volunteer’s in beautiful Florida. Among the first to speak was former Senator Rick Santorum. His opening was a reminder of the necessity of befriending our local legislators, no matter what letter is after their name. By finding common ground with them we have the ability to know the person, not just what they voted on. With this footing, Santorum suggests that we can discuss COS with ease, diluting the tendency to immediately dismiss us on bias alone. He adds that COS is killed because they simply ignore us. Don’t give them reason to! He goes on to discuss one of the reasons we find ourselves in this position. Hard to hear maybe, but true nonetheless. He gently reminds us that our parents come from the greatest generation America has ever seen. They did what it took to ensure freedom for us, their children. We are allowing our generation and culture to become degraded and tyrannical. An example he uses to stress just how far they are willing to go is in Iceland, where they boast that they have eradicated down syndrome. How did they accomplish such a feat you might ask? They kill them. Democrats in our own country are insisting not only on abortion on demand but to have the ability to murder the child after it is born. He ends with this reverberating thought; they (our peers) may not know how bad it is. BUT YOU DO! Make a stand, protect our children, and never stop fighting! Lt. Col. Allen West was next. What a wonderful, passionate man he is! He reminds us that we are on a battle field! What do you do on a battle field? Well you are always standing ready and willing to fight. And you always carry your weapon! What is our weapon? The Constitution! We all should have a pocket Constitution with us at all times. If another reminder is needed that we are non-partisan, he brought to our attention that it was Republicans who talked of amnesty first. It is big government that we must rein in, big government that called monkey pox an epidemic but didn’t shut down the gay baths because “they care for the gays.” Another fun fact he shared was mortgage rates are 189% higher since the day Biden took office. LTC West reminds us that anytime we try to rebuild we will have adversaries. He quotes D.L. Moody: “I like my way of doing things more than your way of doing nothing.” So much insight and inspiration came out of this Summit that I cannot cover it all in one article. Please stay tuned for my take on the encouraging talks of Rick Green, founder of Patriot Academy, David Barton, founder of WallBuilders, Dave Rubin, The Great Mark Levin, and of course, the man himself… Mark Meckler. We can all use encouragement and direction at a time like this. I thank you for taking the time to read how these incredible people have inspired me. |
