There are a number of volunteer activities that can contribute to our mission as a passed state to “Build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists”. This document will help you to know how to conduct one of those activities namely “Host a Meet and Greet in your home”. Though many people have never heard of the Convention of States project, they are unhappy with the state of affairs in our Federal government. Many are concerned that the Congress is engaged in reckless deficit spending and creating endless laws and regulations that stifle creativity and reach into every aspect of our lives. Most have no idea of how to change it but when they learn about the provision the framers of our constitution made to rein in an out of control government using Article V of the constitution, they are interested and support the idea. The key is getting that information to them by someone they like and trust. That is where you come in. If you have relatives, friends or neighbors who might be interested in learning about a powerful and effective way to make a difference and restore our Federal government to what the framers intended, you can be the one to reach them.

Host a Meet and Greet in your home Volunteer Activity Plan Fellow Patriot, You have chosen to volunteer in a cause to restore our Federal government to what the framers of our  Constitution intended using Article V of that constitution, a protection provided by the framers to check a government that has moved beyond its limited and enumerated powers.  You can play a most  important part in this effort as a volunteer to help us get the job done. Here's how: • Invite them to your home to hear a short presentation about the Convention of States Project • A Convention of States volunteer will make a brief video presentation and answer questions • The volunteer will show them how to indicate their support by signing our petition if they  choose The volunteer will not pressure anyone, rather they will present information and allow your guests to  make up their minds. Step 1: Make a list of friends, neighbors, family, work associates who you think might be  interested Step 2: Notify someone from the Convention of States team that you would like to do this and  suggest several dates and times (see below for how to do this) Step 3: Decide if you want to have snacks or soft drinks available Step 4: Design and send invitations to those you wish to invite with an RSVP (see link below) Several days before the event let the volunteer presenter know how many people you expect.  Try to  allow enough time for the volunteer presenter to set up any equipment or handouts prior to the arrival  time of your guests and give the presenter some idea of where you would like him or her to be located  in making the presentation. You can find the email address  and phone number of the State Director on the  Convention of State website  by scrolling down to the  section titled  “WHO'S BEHIND THIS THING  and click on State Leadership.   A quick and easy way to invite your guests is to use EVite.  It is a website that allows you to invite  your guests by email with several attractive invitation designs or one that you design yourself.  It will  allow you to ask them to respond right in the invitation.
