Help Us Pack the Maryland Senate Hearing!

We hope you will join us inside the Senate gallery for the hearing at 1pm on February 23, 2022.

Attending a public hearing on proposed legislation is one of the most important actions of civic duty. It is the best way to engage lawmakers who depend on your input for policy and decision making.

The right to petition your government is deep in the roots of our founding documents. For the right to petition to make a difference, we must actually use that right.

Your Convention of States Maryland team is asking you to join our  volunteers who will testify on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 23, representing all of us who wish to see the COS resolution passed in Maryland.

Together, with strength in numbers we can exercise polite, professional, positive, and persuasive influence by packing the halls of the Senate building in Annapolis.

The first thing our legislators should be asking is, “how does this resolution impact my constituents?” To answer this question, we need to build the necessary framework connecting The People and their politician **by showing up** **in person**.

“Legislation is decided by those who show up.”

Help us fill the chambers to let our legislators know you support the Convention of States Senate Joint Resolution SJ8.  We have engaged volunteers willing to testify with succinct points during the testimony, and we hope you will join us inside the Senate gallery for the hearing at 1pm on February 23, 2022.

If you are interested in packing the gallery, please register here. You will receive an email giving you information about how to participate and to keep you informed about events on the day of the hearing.

> “Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it nothing can succeed.”  - Abraham Lincoln

We need a resounding number personal emails, hand written letters and phone calls made to these committee members, especially if you are their constituent - whether you join us or not at the Senate Hearing next Wednesday, February 23rd.
