This Spring there is a Primary for Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).  DPI is the State Agency Administering Wisconsin’s Public Schools.

Primary Elections

Ballotpedia explains Primary elections in Wisconsin very well.  “Primary elections allow voters to determine which candidates compete in the general election and can be nonpartisan or partisan. In partisan primaries, voters choose the candidates they prefer for a political party to nominate in the general election.

Wisconsin law stipulates that parties conduct open primaries. Voters are not required to be registered with a party to participate in its primary.

Winners in Wisconsin primary elections are determined via plurality vote, meaning that the candidate with the highest number of votes wins even if he or she did not win an outright majority of votes cast.”

Wisconsin Convention of States Action is a Non-Profit, Non-Partisan Organization.  We are not promoting, supporting, or coordinating with a candidate or campaign.   We can and do advocate for candidates sometimes.

P.S. The spring general election is April 1, 2025.  There is a referendum on the ballot then.  Wisconsin voters will decide whether to add a voter photo ID requirement to their state constitution on April 1, 2025
