Gen Z's Take on Civic Engagement
Our generation has the energy, the voice, and the responsibility to shape the future—and civic engagement is how we do it.
| On Tuesday, October 21, I had the incredible opportunity to go to Michigan’s Capitol, an experience far more impactful than reading the New York Times or scrolling through political TikToks. I was there in person, lobbying with the Convention of States Michigan team, and that’s when it hit me: this is what true civic engagement looks like. But the coolest part? I wasn’t just watching—I was part of it. Handing out flyers, sharing business cards, and speaking directly with representatives’ aides made me realize that our voices as young people can make a difference. I got to see volunteers in action, confidently speaking with representatives’ offices about putting power back into the hands of the people. Convention of States isn’t just a movement—it’s a chance to stand up, be heard, and actually shape the future. What really stood out was how personal the experience felt. Lobbying with Convention of States was about building connections, listening carefully, and showing our dedication. Walking through those doors made me feel like I was genuinely contributing to change. Our generation has the energy, the voice, and the responsibility to shape the future—and civic engagement is how we do it. Convention of States isn’t just about politics; it’s about ordinary people stepping up to protect liberty, promote accountability, and make sure the government serves the people. If you care about freedom and want to make a difference, this is the moment to get involved. Learn about Convention of States in this 3-minute VIDEO. Sign the PETITION.
