Follow Up Kansas House District 1

Kansas Patriot,

Thank you for signing the Convention of States petition. Your petition has already been sent to your state legislators, Senator Tim Shallenburger and Representative Dale Helwig.

Every petition signed moves the nation closer to our goal of restoring a culture of self governance using the authority of the U.S. Constitution. Article V of our Constitution includes a process of proposing amendments through action of our state legislatures.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

The states created the federal government and the states have a responsibility to exercise their authority to make changes necessary to stop federal overreach and corruption. Georgia, Alaska, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arizona, North Dakota, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Utah, and Mississippi have passed legislation to have a convention to propose amendments for term limits, fiscal restraint and limiting the scope of the federal government. It's time for Kansas to join those states.

Here is what you can do:

1. Help us add at least one more signed petition today. Share this email with friends and family. Tell them why you signed the petition. They can see more about Convention of States at ConventionofStates.com. This is the easiest way you can help. Ask them to watch our latest video

2. Open our emails. We know your inbox is flooded with junk, but we hope you recognize the significance of this cause. We want you to be informed. We may ask you to engage in communication with your legislators as we work to encourage our supporters and help those opposed to change their position. So keep us out of your junk folder.

3. Join our volunteer team. We are recruiting leaders in each legislative district to help us grow the grassroots and maintain communication with their legislator. We also need writers and follow-up workers to welcome new supporters. We will provide you with training, resources, and team support to achieve these objectives. See how you can volunteer.
