Facebook is the modern day taverns to spread information.
| Social media is the way to reach people at no cost to you but only a few minutes of your day. You can expand your reach as a Convention of States volunteer by leveraging Facebook Groups and Stories that can greatly amplify your efforts to promote Article V as a solution to federal overreach. Start by joining active Facebook Groups that discuss topics related to limited government, state sovereignty, economy, issues affected by federal policies, such as Second Amendment rights or education policy, since few groups focus exclusively on Article V. Use Facebook’s search bar to find Groups by entering terms like “state rights” or “constitutional reform,” filtering for “Groups,” and joining public or private ones with engaged members; use your personal profile, as some Groups restrict Pages, and refer to resources like WikiHow: How to Join Groups on Facebook for guidance. Before posting, observe each Group’s culture, tone, and rules to avoid violating guidelines on self-promotion or political content, and introduce yourself by connecting your COS role to the Group’s interests, such as saying, “Hi, I’m [Your Name], a Convention of States volunteer passionate about using an Article V Convention of States to reign in big government. You can share an article from conventionofstates.com. You can mention and share this video about the Convention of States Endorsers in the new administration. Mention the NC Convention of States Resolution and Faithful Article V Commissioner Act that are active in the NC Legislature. Share compelling content that ties Article V to Group concerns, like how federal policies impact state rights, and noting that 19 states have passed COS resolution , and including calls to action like downloading the COS Pocket Guide or volunteering. Do a 90-second video reel explaining why you support an Article V Convention of States or mention how it relates to a particular issue or legislation. Set up polls asking, “Should states have more power to counter federal policies?“ Always include a link to conventionofstates.com telling them where they can find more information and asking them to sign the petition. Using the Facebook mobile app, log into your personal profile, tap “Create Story” at the top of your News Feed, and upload a photo or video (e.g., a COS event image or a clip explaining Article V) or use the in-app camera to capture new content (up to 20 seconds). You can also choose formats like “Text” for a message, “Poll” to ask, “Do you support states limiting federal power?” Customize your Story with stickers, text like “Join the COS movement!” or a link to conventionofstates.com (for Pages), keeping visuals bold and text concise. Set the privacy to “Public” for maximum reach and tap “Share to Story” to publish; use COS-branded graphics or clips (e.g., 19 states on board). Foster two-way engagement in Groups by responding to comments promptly, answering Article V questions with COS facts, and using features like polls or themed posts. For best results, stay positive and respectful, post 2–3 times per week per Group to remain visible without overwhelming. By leveraging Facebook Groups and Stories, you’re helping to grow the largest grassroots army of self-governing citizens in the state-each conversation, share, or new volunteer brings COS closer to the 34 states needed for an Article V convention, with your efforts rippling outward to reach thousands.
