Join Jonathan Viaud and his guest, Cody Vasut, Texas House Representative and our sponsor for our clean (no sunset clause) bill HJR 98 in Texas, for an exciting evening! _____________________________________ COS National Last Month: Legislative Activity - Lots of 34 ready activity right now in many states - some of these are Kentucky, North Carolina and West Virginia! New Hampshire: Passed the House committee 10-7 and is headed to a floor vote Idaho: Passed the House Judiciary, Rules & Administration Committee and is headed to the floor for a vote. Wyoming: The Wyoming House failed to pass the resolution. But we will come back again stronger than ever! Kansas: Passed Senate committee, heading to the Senate floor soon. Iowa: Passed (first state in the country) removing gender identity! South Dakota: Passed the Senate committee and floor vote, as well as the House committee vote. ___________________________________ ![]() Page 2 of 8 Utah March 2025 Update: Salt Lake County recurring In-Person COS multi-Utah House District (HD) and Regional meeting Date: Wednesday, March 12, 2025 (the 2nd Wednesday of each month) Location: Draper Library , 1136 East Pioneer Road (12400 South), Draper, Utah Time: 7:00 to 8:30 pm – The Utah County COS Group will be holding their In-Person meeting with the Salt Lake County In-Person meeting. This will be a group of likeminded people meeting together to discuss our ideas on how to progress the COS grass roots movement here in Utah, utilizing COS volunteers and Article V of our divinely inspired constitution. If you have any questions regarding the Salt Lake County meetings please contact: Scott 801-918-9238, Mary 801-518-2290, or Debra 801-971-4534. _____________________________________ COS Utah Last Month : A BIG THANK YOU Mark Meckler for his visit to our COS Utah Capitol Rally! We had a great event at the COS Capitol Rally in February. We were so grateful to have Mark Meckler, President of COS to fly to Utah and spend the day with us! We were very successful in getting to visit with most of our Legislators with Mark Meckler. We even got to have a fun lunch together after the Capitol Rally – Winnie Cain, Dawna Smith, Maurine Miles, Patrick Trepanier, Candace Daly, Scott Pratt, James Beer, Mr. Daly, Mark Meckler, Cynthia Black. ![]() Page 4 of 8 COS Utah Last Month Continued : At our Utah COS Capitol Rally we found out that we could contact our Legislator or their intern and schedule an appointment to sit with our Legislator on the House floor with them. I actually contacted them while I was at the Capitol Rally, and I was able to schedule to sit with my Legislator the next day. It was an honor to get to sit on the House floor with my Legislator, Clint Okerlund. I got to be there about an hour visiting with my Legislator and enjoying the chamber floor. If you ever have a chance to you should try and schedule this and a meeting with your Legislator. Remember – You are the BOSS! Act like it!!! Elected officials represent our community and our interests, so let them know who you are and what you care about! Take time to introduce yourself and your organization to public officials serving your community – including both federal and state representatives. Make an appointment and discuss: 1- Their stance on Convention of States. 2- What Bills they are working on that COS could possibly get behind and support. 3- Notify your District Captain, or Regional Captain, or Legislative Liaison with the results after contacting them.
