Instead, the federal government, dominated by career politicians, has usurped power from the people and the states over many decades, effectively dismantling the principles of federalism that the founding fathers forged into the U.S. Constitution. We now issue this Open Letter to the States to communicate our grievances with the federal government: • It has amassed a $30+ trillion national debt with $150 trillion in unfunded liabilities. • It regularly fails to balance its budget, as most states are required to do. If you would like to see the additional 20 grievances with the federal government and what is planned, please click this link to read on: An Open Letter to the States ~ America’s Future \\ Depends on Your Leadership - COSAction \\ (conventionofstates.com) _____________________________________ ![]() Page 2 of 7 COS Utah July Update: Convention of States Utah had a booth at - American Fork Steel Days Friday, July 8 – 4:00 pm -10:30 pm. and Saturday, July 9 – 1:00 pm thru 10:30 pm At Art Dye Park - 830-998 North 550 East, American Fork, Utah We had a great turn out of volunteers and interested patriots learning about the Convention of States and signing the petition. Oakeson COS Title: Volunteer City raised in: Taylorsville, Utah City current living in: West Jordan, Utah Favorite Hobbies: Running, flying, singing in Spanish choir. What brought you to COS (Your Why): I feel our country is in serious trouble, many in office now are not doing their job supporting correct principles and the people. It’s sad to see the constitution being abused and our freedoms being destroyed. In the constitution if we don’t follow sound principles we run into problems. COS has many solutions to the problems we are facing today. I hope the country gets off the crashing constitution and gets on board a sound design that will get us to the proper destination. Inspirational thought: We need to acknowledge the Creator ’s input, the founding fathers wisdom and insight in the constitution. We must continue on the pathway to correcting tyranny, government abuse, and awake the people from ignorance. More about You: I Love to run, in school and a few marathons, favorite run is 10k or half marathon. Always liked construction, so became a general contractor. Do most things but plumbing and electrical. _____________________________________ ![]() Page 5 of 7 Last Month Event: We had a great morning at Scott Pratt’s home Saturday, June 25th – for our District Captain (DC) Summit & Pancake Breakfast. When a note is entered under that contact heading, it puts a checkmark in the appropriate box in the onboarding checklist. by Bill Pressgrove, Utah SIA _____________________________________ New Volunteers: Region 3: Lorenza Fesques, HD-17, District Captain Region 7: Justin Allred, HD-2, District Captain District Captain - you will help recruit, welcome, and educate other volunteers in your local area, and be proactive in raising grassroots support.
