COS Champions Article V at the Capitol

The North Carolina Capitol buzzed with grassroots energy as COS volunteers donned COS name tags, buttons, and t-shirts to promote Article V

On Tuesday, April 30th, the North Carolina Capitol buzzed with grassroots energy as Convention of States (COS) volunteers donned COS name tags, buttons, and t-shirts to promote Article V. On the agenda was a volunteer training session which featured Rep. Mike Schietzelt, who shared his passion for the Constitution and the Article V process, inspiring the team. Mike Schietzelt recently was featured in an Axios article:

Afterward, COS teams spread out across the legislative buildings, with some volunteers stopping by their legislator’s offices for quick chats to discuss Article V and the COS mission. The COS North Carolina team distributed the Broadside—a concise sheet detailing Article V, HJR 379 (the Convention of States Resolution), and HB 214 (the Faithful Article V Commissioner Act)—to every legislator at the Capitol.

Volunteers were also present outside the caucus room as House representatives arrived for the 12 noon caucus meeting.

Outside at Halifax Mall, Greg Hall engaged passersby, sharing the COS message as he took photos of them with the two llamas, Reepicheep and Straight Arrow.

The North Carolina Convention of States team is focused on growing the largest grassroots army of self-governing citizens, and educating legislators about the Article V process, which is why we come to the capitol. Dennis Riddell is the main sponsor of HJR 379, the Convention of States Resolution.

When legislators truly study the Article V Convention of States process, they conclude it is the solution as big as the problem, and the only peaceful solution to fix the broken structure of an out of control federal government.
