Convention of States buttons attract attention
In a room of about 50 attendees, seven volunteers wearing buttons drew enough attention to cause attendees to ask for more information on Convention of States.
| Convention of States Virginia Grassroots Coordinator Nancy Koenig and her team of volunteers from the Charlottesville area have been faithfully meeting with their delegate Sally Hudson (House District 57) to ask her to support a Convention of States to address federal overreach in Washington, D.C. Their latest meeting was at a town hall on December 12, where Nancy gave each of her team members a Convention of States button to wear. In a room of about 50 attendees, the seven volunteers wearing COS buttons drew enough attention to cause attendees to ask for more information on Convention of States. “I noticed all the buttons,” Delegate Hudson's aide noted. “I’m interested in hearing more.” During the event COS volunteers Frank Esposito and Nancy Koenig presented a thank you card to Delegate Hudson for her public service, which contained a request for her to support our COS resolution. Included in the card were photos of various COS events that local supporters had attended. Delegate Hudson very politely explained that she does not support Convention of States, because of gerrymandering across the country. Nancy's team plans to once more wear their buttons and meet with Delegate Hudson to clarify that a convention can be trusted. Unfortunately, due the coronavirus concerns, Delegate Hudson canceled the March 25 meeting with Nancy's team. Nancy and her team definitely plan to schedule another meeting once the coronavirus quarantine has ended. And of course, COS buttons will be worn.
