Connecticut, Rhode Island, and other states join Massachusetts

What a great event!

On Saturday, June 19, members of the Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey and Tennessee Convention of States groups joined with the Massachusetts team on Founding Fathers Day to remember the 102 courageous Pilgrims who fled England in search of the religious freedom denied them under King James 1. Landing in December, 1620, only 51 souls survived the first winter.

The largest granite statue in the Nation, called National Monument to the Forefathers, reaching 81 feet, is located in Plymouth, MA. The names of those Mayflower passengers are carved into two sides of the structure. This impressive landmark consists of five figures, symbolizing Faith, Morality, Education, Law and Liberty. It was erected “by a grateful people in remembrance of their labors, sacrifices and sufferings for the cause of civil and religious liberty.”

Reflecting on the willingness of those who came before us to give their very lives to be free, we are even more determined to restore our Nation to these founding principles. We are confident, as Convention of States teams link arms throughout the United States, that with the help of God, we will persuade State Legislators to embrace an Article V convention as the only way to preserve our great Republic.
