The extraordinary people of Convention of States Kansas
| My name is Connie Davidson and I have supported Convention of States, not a Constitutional Convention, for a while now. Once I figured out voting was not enough, and that Congress was not going to restrain themselves or make the structural changes we needed to protect our Constitution. The Convention solution was a clear light bulb for me. It addressed the structural changes needed in the Federal government by calling a Convention using Article V resolution. It uses our existing Constitution to protect the Constitution. The Article V resolution covers all the concerns I was having and felt helpless to stop because Congress was so out of control. So finally, a way address term limits, federal overreach, and budget concerns in an historically sound, legal process. It is a safe process. The resolution supports discussion of only these topics at Convention so only amendments that address these topics can be proposed. No Others.  I truly believe, the Convention is the only solution that will make our Constitution stronger and protect our freedoms and rights. Am I afraid of a runaway convention? Absolutely not!!! The history is there on how it will be run, we have had two mock Conventions, and our Constitution makes it very clear that Congress has no role in a called COS. The early papers also make it very clear; this COS is the path our Constitution gave us to fight a tyrannical government and the People through the states must have a way to by-pass the tyranny. My real fear is the far left socialist who hate our Constitution, dark money that buys group opposition, and right leaning groups that oppose the US Constitution related to fear, being uninformed and misinformed and plain inability to admit they are wrong related to arrogance and probably money. Convention of States is the only lasting Solution…. Elections may help but they are never enough. |
