Christmas Is Upon Us

Enjoy the Christmas season with loved ones.

Christmas time is upon us. I work in retail and regardless of inflation, we are still going at a pretty good clip. TVs, tablets, toys, wine, and beautiful rib roasts still stream toward the checkouts. Oh, and snow shovels, too!

The colder days and frosty nights remind me of Christmas in the past. While the chill is welcome right now, I will surely tire of it once the holiday season is a memory.

Now is a time to distance ourselves from the struggles we face with our failing government in Washington, D.C. I’m not saying forget our obligation, because if not for us, then who? Just a brief time out to enjoy Christmas for what it really is.

Family gatherings and making memories top my Christmas list now. I’ll make a Boston cream pie to share with the people I love. We’ll enjoy one another's company and talk about doing it again soon. I'll smile even when no one is looking.

Well, Merry Christmas everyone! Our time out will be over soon enough and we’ll be back to work, fighting the good fight.
