Turning Point USA founder, COS endorser, and Trump ally Charlie Kirk has been shot in the neck at a student event in Utah.

Turning Point UK confirmed that Kirk is alive and “fighting” in the hospital. Little else is known about his condition.

According to the school, the suspect is now in custody. No one else appears to have been injured.

The 31-year-old political icon is known for his “prove me wrong” events, where he speaks to college students at campuses across America. His Fall 2025 tour kicked off today at Utah Valley University, where he was shot while addressing a crowd.

“We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X. “Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected.”

Additionally, Utah Governor Spencer Cox vowed to hold those responsible “fully accountable.”

“Violence has no place in our public life,” he said. “Americans of every political persuasion must unite in condemning this act.”

The news of the horrific shooting was met with an outpouring of prayers from Kirk's conservative colleagues, including President Donald Trump.

COS is urging our supporters to join in prayer for Kirk, who is an outspoken Christian.

His wife, Erika, posted Psalm 46:1 on social media: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
