Our organization does something that no other organization like ours does… We Call each new petition signer and we say Thank You for Signing the Petition. This is something that Mr. Meckler values the most about our organization and something that we here with the California team, strive to excel in. You are not representing your personal political preferences or party affiliations) * We can not support or oppose the Recall efforts ==== ==== ==== Legal Reminder - RE: Our Resolution ==== | ===== Important ===== In September 2022, a law was passed regarding Advertising Lobbying that went into effect on January 1, 2023. As a result of this law, California can not file our resolution at this time. ===== Why ===== California law states that once we file our resolution Convention Of States is required to file Lobbying Reports with the Secretary of State every 72 hours. The devil is in the details of course. To avoid the complexities a full explanation would require, all you need to know is that once our resolution is filed with the state, it will incur a huge financial burden on Convention Of States. ===== Impact ===== Does this impact our activities? Yes & No… * We Can Not * file our resolution until we feel we have enough support to be able to pass it through the legislature in one year's time. * ask our legislators to sponsor or support our resolution * ask our grassroots to communicate their desire for their legislators to sponsor or support our resolution. * file a resolution without the approval of Convention Of States Other than what is mentioned above: * We Can * still ask our grassroots to contact their legislators and voice their support for Convention Of States. * ask our grassroots to ask their legislators where they stand on reining in the federal government or if they support using Article V. * proceed with all of the regular activities that we ask our volunteers to participate in. Basically business as usual with the exceptions mentioned above. Once they do, they will have access to the California Home Page. * Encourage them to visit the **CA Grassroots Dashboard** to download resources they can use to help educate others & spread the word * Encourage them to register at COS University and complete COS 100 & COS 200 to begin their education. The courses are free * Have them go to the Take Action page for various volunteer opportunities * Have them visit our Resource page to learn more * Tell them about our COS Store and the merchandise offered there. ==== ==== ==== FUT Team Member - With Statewide Access ==== Day-to-Day Operation * You are responsible for the Districts without DCs * Set your filter for Has DC - NO * Additional filter for Volunteer - Yes * Once the Volunteer-Yes have been processed… Reset the filter to Volunteer-Any * Click on the Created At Date to sort the list from oldest to most recent and begin working it from oldest to the newest petition signed to date. Backlogs * If you notice a backlog in a District with a DC * You can locate their contact info by looking them up in the Leaders Directory * It is possible they are a new DC * Reach out to that DC. * Let them know you are reaching out to determine if they need any assistance with learning more about the tool. * Ask them if they need assistance with contacting the New Follow-Ups. * If a Backlog is due to inactivity * District # * DC Name * Last FUT Activity of DC * Notify the FUT Team Leader or State Director with the following information ==== ==== ==== FUT Team Member - With Region Access ==== * Your operations are the same as above for your Region ==== ==== ==== FUT Team Member - With District Access ==== * You are responsible for working the FUT for your District with or without a DC. * The general processing is the same as above unless otherwise mentioned. ==== Understanding FUT Status ==== FUT status originally only showed for those supporters who are, or have been, included in the CitizenBuilder FUT; all others were shown as blank. N/A is now shown instead of blank. The possible FUT Status values are:  New Followup – a new supporter who has not yet been welcomed via FUT. Only supporters who have contact information are included in FUT (must have a name, and either an email address or phone number that is not marked as bad).In Progress – new supporter for whom a leader has begun the welcome process, but it has not yet been completed. Only the assigned leader, and selected other state-level leaders, can view these from the In Progress tab of FUT. |
