"Because I Said So" Governance
I joined Convention of States to participate in a grassroots army.
| As a baby boomer, I heard the phrase “because I said so” a lot growing up. My father wielded the saying anytime I questioned his decisions or ultimatums. And I did so often. “Because I said so” never satisfied me. It made my blood boil. Even as a small child, I hated that evasive phrase. I wanted answers.  Thankfully, this parenting style has gone out of fashion, but the technique has had a resurgence in the US government. The powers that be treat all Americans like children using the “because I said so” method of governance. “Don’t trouble your little head about that, citizen, we’ll take care of everything. We know what’s best for you, leave it to us.”I don’t think so. I didn’t fall for it at five, and I’m not falling for it now – an undisclosed amount of years later. That’s why I joined Convention of States, to participate in a grassroots army pursuing self-governance. Being a part of COS Action gives me a way to fulfill my obligation and exercise my privilege as an informed and engaged American citizen. Don’t allow a self-important group of politicians and hucksters to get away with “because I said so”. Get involved and volunteer in Convention of States where you’ll find like-minded compatriots who share your values. Together we can link arms and work toward forming a more perfect union.
