Assimilation Gone Wrong

It is difficult to imagine that people would intentionally be orchestrating the destruction of our nation. Why would they?

I found myself employed on a university campus after seventeen years in a not-for-profit corporate setting. In my previous life the bottom line meant a lot. We were entrenched in Total Quality Management to improve services, cut costs and survive economically. No margin, no mission. That was the reality.

It didn’t take long for me to see that my new academic environment was far more concerned with 100% participation in diversity programming and celebration of multiculturalism rather than improving student outcomes.

The open-mindedness sounded like a good thing. Of course we should be tolerant of our differences. Forcing all people and things to be the same gets boring, confining, smothering, or wait, tyrannical.

One of the instructors exposed me to a new concept when she said, “this is my truth.” I had to think about that for a while. I guess it meant, “this is what I believe.” Which is fine. Not everyone has to believe the same thing, right?

I was already in my late 40s by then and not nearly as impressionable as I could have been. Why did I not take exception to that? Because I didn’t realize it was the beginning of “there is no absolute truth.”

The next level of accepting diversity manifested in the complex personnel adjustment of an employee who was transitioning from one sex to another. We were all informed of the name change, the clothing was obvious, use of bathrooms was challenging, and pronouns became a deadly minefield.

Yes, I lived through that up close and personal. Most of us just want to get along and let people do what they want as long as we are not harmed. I stood by and did nothing; in fact, I was supportive. I saw standards eroding but allowed myself to believe They, the experts in charge, knew better. Where’s the harm?

Over the next ten years the diversity training morphed into multi-part programs showing us all the bad things we have done and convincing us that we are a very hateful, racist, misogynist, and downright biased group of people. There were only two of us older adults in the room who did speak up. We observed that racism had not been our experience of growing up American. That fell on ears that would not hear.

Hindsight is so very valuable!
Now the harm is a lot clearer than while this was happening. Now we know that if a Supreme Court appointee cannot define a woman, something very sinister is going on. We saw men destroying women’s sports. We saw a drug-addled criminal portrayed as a victim of police brutality. Cities burned, police protection and rule of law vanished. One crisis after another is destabilizing. It is not normal.

I haven’t even mentioned the lies surrounding COVID or the “border is secure” immigration story.

This is where the destruction of absolute moral truth, as in “what is right or wrong, what is good or evil,” became crystal clear and yet most of us watched and did nothing.

By now we should all know that moral confusion is step one in the **Marxist playbook ** towards communist takeover. **Demoralize, destabilize, crisis, normalize**. Divide us all up into our separate victim identities, indoctrinate us to accept as reality the opposite of what we see right in front of us. Make it OK to eliminate obstacles to progress, even if they are human obstacles. Control, then conquer us because we are fighting each other and ignoring what is really going on.

It is difficult to imagine that people would intentionally be orchestrating the destruction of our nation. Why would they? . . . Ego, power, money, control are some of the explanations. Historically, it has happened before. If you don’t believe me, do your own research. Don’t just Google it and accept the AI summary. Read a whole book*.

Assimilation
This was supposed to be a blog about how, why, and when we **stopped assimilating** legal immigrants into one common American language, culture, and values. I realized that in my submissive choice to be more inclusive, accepting, nonjudging, and polite, I was almost assimilated in the wrong direction.

You can review various research **studies on assimilation**, but I hope that this personal story might be more inspiring. Don’t believe what others tell you. Look around. Figure it out for yourself. Wake up, people. They are still lying to us every day.
