| Senator Mike Lee and the Article 1 Project Follow this link to read a post in the Article V Blog by Rodney Dodsworth. Senator Lee appears to believe that Congress can and will correct itself. Dodsworth provides some much-needed background on how Congress not only abrogated its legislative power but as well how it delegated it to the administrative state. He also explains how it also gave up, the right and duty to control spending in certain cases. How did we get into this mess anyway? This article describes one step down that slippery slope. What amendment can a COS Project Article V Convention propose that corrects the problems cited? (No, you can't just repeal the 17th Amendment! Repealing the 17th amendment may not be in order under the COSP application.) You can't just “fling” an amendment into the Constitution and expect all problems to be instantly solved. Amendments may need an accompanying schedule for implementation. |
