Arkansas Legislature Passes a Faithful Delegate Bill

Good Friday was a good day in Arkansas!

House Bill 1748, the Convention of States Faithful Delegate Resolution, passed through the  Arkansas House of Representatives on April 3rd and through the Arkansas Senate on the Friday before Easter.

The bill sets the number of delegates that will represent Arkansas at a Convention of States and specifies the penalty for mischief at a Convention of States when it is called.

When a total of 34 states have passed the same measures as Arkansas, a Convention of States will be called and held. At the convention the exact wording will be debated and finalized. Then 38 states will be needed to amend the federal constitution by ratifying the final wording.

Arkansas is the 13th of the 19 states that have passed the resolution. Only 15 more are needed!
