A Fruitful Town

The town of Toms River is proving to be a very productive spot for the New Jersey Central East Region to hold petition signing events.

The town of Toms River in Ocean County, established in 1767, is proving to be a very productive spot for the New Jersey Central East Region to hold petition signing events. District 9 DC Sheila Molloy, also the Events Coordinator for the Region, never misses a chance to have Convention of States host a booth at the town’s various street fairs held throughout the year. She even purchased an eye-catching patriotic tent to increase our visibility!

In the last few months of 2024, members of our COS team participated in three street fairs in Toms River, netting a total of 101 signed petitions. The Comfort Food Festival on September 21, the Harvest Arts Festival on October 19 and the Winter Wonderland on December 7 all drew sizable crowds. Visitors from across the political spectrum signed our petition calling for term limits, fiscal responsibility and a vastly reduced Federal workforce. COS is truly a non-partisan organization.

Many people who approached our booth already knew about COS and the goals of our resolution. Many people were on election overload and sick of partisan bickering in the country. People are looking for hope, and COS provides that. The three petition events in Toms River yielded lots of volunteer interest. A major unifier is the revolt against the egregious interference of the Federal government into local schools.

It appears the tide is turning towards more local involvement through civic participation and a lot less meddling by the Federal government. If you’d like to join in the fight for New Jersey to be one of the 34 States to pass the resolution calling for a Convention of States, sign the petition using the link below.
