Supporting a Convention of States in North Carolina returns to the state decision-making about important matters such as education, healthcare, natural resources, and taxes. And, it's widely supported, and nonpartisan.

A Convention of States (COS) benefits all North Carolinians, regardless of political party affiliation. At stake is clarifying who decides about issues that matter to all of us – things that concern constituents here in North Carolina. ===== Who Decides? ===== The central question motivating the COS movement and resolution is, Who Decides? Are taxpayers, constituents, businesses, and other civic organizations and institutions in NC better served by far-off elected and appointed officials in DC? Or, better served by the locally elected representatives in North Carolina, who are closer and more responsive to the ground truth here in the Old North State? Federal environmental programs must by definition use a least common denominator approach, representing national interests. This does not and never will fully align with, or represent, the hikers, campers, fishermen, boaters, and even spelunkers who call North Carolina home

Local conservation and utilization programs can best balance the needs of those who want to admire, explore, and fully utilize NC’s natural resources for personal and economic benefit

It returns decision-making to the State for concerns of its own tax-paying citizens. A Convention of States is truly nonpartisan: polling shows that 62% of North Carolinians support calling an Article V convention. National voter support by party is 55% Democrat, 72% Republican, and 62% Other. Opposition is low, ranging between 7% and 26% by party.
