Ring Our Bell
| Come ring the Convention of States, Wisconsin Liberty Bell at the Lafayette County Fair. Visit our table and learn about how our founders of the U.S. Constitution gave “We The People” a way to return to self-governance. What: Convention of States, Action is a non-profnon-partisan organization dedicated to educating you about civics in a fast fun way. If you support our United States Constitution then you support Convention of States, Action. We can quickly tell you about Article V (five), clause II of our United States Constitution. It lays out the process for our State Legislators to propose amendments to our United States Constitution. And how a Convention of the States can be called to discuss and propose the specific amendment language. Ratification is also spelled out in Article V, it requires three quarters (75%) of our State Legislatures to approve any single amendment. It is a safe process, because there are many laws, rules, and precedent’ to follow. As and example, search for 2017 Wisconsin Act 83. It spells out how delegates or commissioners are selected from Wisconsin, and how they are required to communicate with the Wisconsin State Legislature during all Article V Conventions of the States.
